Did I miss something? Did they announce the winner somewhere?

Hopefully it's me... finally, an upgrade to 5 :!:

Just found this in the July issue of Remix: 2nd prize is Robert Persuad aka Robbie Styles from Trinibago, Windies and 1st prize is Chris Vanderkolk aka Retrobyte from Ann Arbor, Michigan. His remix was played on G&D's May essential mix on Radio 1 and they've signed one of his original tracks, 'Going Down' to their label. Haven't found anything on Beatport yet.

Cheers
Emil

howdy :) it's chris/retrobyte here.

you can listen to the remix over on my MySpace until it gets a release in about a month or so - the quality is kind of iffy, but you get the picture. the boys are telling me that it'll be on all the regular digital haunts along with another surprise :) hope you all like it! stay tuned!

My biggest gripe with most remix contests is that not only do you not get to hear all the submissions, but half the time you don't even get to hear the winner. Seems like such a waste to not hear all the great creativity. I mean forget about the subjectiveness of how the winners are picked, but to just submit a bunch of work and have it go into a black hole is just pointless.

Hence my remix "contests" are much more about community efforts. :)

Hi All,
Sorry for the delay on this one, and congrats to the winners! Here's the information posted over on the sticky in the Link Your Music forum.
Best,
Jesse

GABRIEL & DRESDEN REMIXING CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED!
Thanks to everyone who entered the Gabriel & Dresden remixing contest, sponsored by Remix magazine and Ableton. DJ/producers Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden listened to tons of remixes from all over the world (Israel, Taipei, Sweden, Australia and Poland being just a handful of the countries represented). Contestants created many different interpretations of the duo’s first single, “Tracking Treasure Down,” from Gabriel & Dresden's self-titled debut album (Organized Nature, 2006).

We apologize for the long wait, but it’s finally time to announce the winners! The second-prize winner goes to Robert Persaud (aka Robbie Styles) from Trinidad & Tobago, who won a copy of Ableton Live 5, a signed copy of G&D’s debut artist album, Gabriel & Dresden (Organized Noise, 2006) and a year subscription or renewal to Remix.

And congratulations to the first-prize winner, Chris Vanderkolk (aka Retrobyte) from Ann Arbor, Mich.! He won a video iPod, Live 5, signed copy of Gabriel & Dresden, more Remix issues at his doorstep and VIP tickets to a Gabriel & Dresden show. Gabriel & Dresden also played Vanderkolk’s remix on the duo’s “May Essential Mix” show on BBC1. To top it off, the guys signed one of Vanderkolk’s original tracks, “Going Down,” to their label, Organized Nature.

Stay tuned for more remixing contests to come from Remix, and go to www.ableton.com for future contest announcements.
