Self-hating american.
that website has been around for awhile and there's still no way to buy 'em, plus they look way expensive. I guess time will tell...
Dell Studio XPS 8100 Windows 7 64-bit, 10 GB RAM. RME Multiface, Avalon U5 & M5, Distressor, Filter Factory, UC33e, BCR-2000, FCB1010, K-Station, Hr 824 & H120 sub, EZ Bus, V-Drums, DrumKat EZ, basses, guitars, pedals... http://www.ryan-hughes.net
it was tagged as vapourware due to its amazingly long lead in time from the original announcement at musicmesse march 2005 (?)
the original images were all 3d renders, there was a lot of hype. probably looking to build up investment based on shiny pictures alone.
but who knows, perhaps they are finally going to make or release one.
anyway - read around their forum for many tales of woe. Some people actually seem to have handed over money in the middle of last year and not taken delivery of a product?

damn, in reading this my wood has been sunk. it'd be nice if a company could just make a decent live controller...theyd sell tons! if you could mate a monome with a UC33e, then you'd have a winner.
if its got lotsa triggers, it lacks knobs/faders. if its got knobs/faders, it lacks triggers. the frustration just keeps mounting!

I'm not saying the Mawzer will never come out - only that they were very naiive in letting their drive for investment sour public perception , also they must have been very over-optimistic about schedules. The combination really made them look bad. But appearences can be deceiving.
one day they will perhaps make one and then sell it, perhaps even soon.
I'm an optimist on odd numbered days.
I would say that the way they have proceeded so far doesn't exactly inspire confidence to send them money through the interweb.
If they ever get international distribution sorted out (as they claim they have!) I may believe in them a little more.

Mawzer nailed the modular thing, though. That's the way it's gonna have to be--a clip module, a transport module, Operator/Impulse/Simpler modules, different kinds of channel strips. Then everybody could be happy. I just wish it didn't have to look like a mixer. Mixers are so fugly + retro. I want the Fortress of Solitude controller.

i like the idea of the Faderfox, but the lack of USB and the fact that each one has to be plugged into a power source just doesnt make me want to buy one.Pepehouse wrote:Well, there's the Faderfox....Danny Futuro wrote:![]()

I had the idea of doing this a number of years back, but decided it was far to expensive to make for the intended market (I'm an electronic design engineer who was pissed off with his job at the time!). Each little module would cost a fortune to make, and that cost would need to be recovered with profit.
Neat idea though.

depends on how you do it... Obviously setting up hundreds of jack plugs on the bottom of a big flight-case is a ridiculously (And needlessly) expensive solution.trip_out wrote:I had the idea of doing this a number of years back, but decided it was far to expensive to make for the intended market (I'm an electronic design engineer who was pissed off with his job at the time!). Who wants USB when you have MIDI? Faderfoxes can also run with batteries.Danny Futuro wrote:i like the idea of the Faderfox, but the lack of USB and the fact that each one has to be plugged into a power source just doesnt make me want to buy one.Pepehouse wrote:Well, there's the Faderfox....Danny Futuro wrote:![]()
