thing that kills me is people used to spend hours putting together ambient pieces. now you just generate them. but i like the notion that the machine can become the song.

..more:

http://www.monolake.de/audiofiles/gener ... 072006.mp3

-six session tracks, mostly with this structure in each track:
-some clips with random follow actions and different settings of FA time and quantise
-Random>Scale>Chord>Operator>EQ>Reverb>Beat Repeat
-one send with Filter Deleay
-master with EQ>CompressorII>Saturator all massively compressed and pumping.

and then launch first scene and go drink some coffee while recording the result into track seven in session view. afterwards opening file in iTunes, convert to mp3, upload and write this text.

okay, forgot to mention i made this with my laptop using the build in speakers. might sound like crap over a PA....

enjoy anyway.

Thanks for sharing!!! :D
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

just so you know, everyone, the biggest new feature in Live 6 is that not only does it do this, it also makes the coffee for you.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

pffff

beautifull
really

the trouble is when you make this stuff yourself; you just have to sit and listen for 3 quarters of the time;hearing the machine do it's talking.. hypnotizing stuff

no, Amaury from Ableton let that one slip - apparently: "it does not make your coffee for you, and it does not tell the future YET"

Wait a second, didn't Brian Eno make a crap load of money selling this kind of stuff? How awesome would it be if you could just hit the space bar, have Live play this stuff in one window, and than in another browser window, with Paypal up, every few seconds you refresh and watch the balance grow....

It does however make a wicked banana split*, one of the most important ingredients in ambient music - and Bobby H's secret obsession.

*works only in conjunction with a Monodeck 2.

great idea!

although I'm not so sure the bulk of Enos money would have come from ambient album sales - probably more as a producer - that's a guess though I could be totally wrong and you might have hit upon something!

course you've let the cat out of the bag now!
