Dynamic looping (SP-202)?

Post by olli06 » Sat Jun 24, 2006 12:36 pm

hi everybody!

i'd like to know how to dynamically and seamlessly chain non-warped, pitch-shifting loops in the session view. ie, i want to alter playback speed, not just pitch, but still have a continuous loop. i have played around with follow actions and that gets you fixed end point only. surely there must be a way. also, it would also be great to be able to assign the detune parameter to a continuous MIDI controller (or some other way to get a smooth detune).

hey, my old SP-202 did it! and then it died.

ideas anyone?

love,
o

What I do using an SP-303 is to record the sample first, before then taking to editing the clip timing when necessary using the bottom right side portion of the screen (the clip edit area). There I simply mess around with the vertical points on the clip, double clicking whichever one is necessary, in order to then be able to move the vertical lines to match the metronome I play at the same time. This tends to help me with tightening up the clipped groove that I have played. Yep -- those vertical lines (quantize points) really do come in handy for me. Hope they can do for you as well. Good luck.
