Play Live Virtual Midi While Sequence is Playing? ....

A little help from you Live midi people out there .... I am using a Roland VSC and I want to be able to trigger all 16 channels with an external kbd while a sequence is playing. I want to do this without adding 16 more trks that I can assign to play those 16 channels. I could record-enable the trks but every time I load the set I would have to enable the trks again. .... Why won't the midi channels into each trk trigger that channel while in monitor auto mode, while the sequence is playing? It works in monitor in mode, but no sequence. I could be missing something or just not seeing it because those great guys at M-Audio didn't have an answer either. .... If someone has an answer, Thanx and if not maybe this would be a great "Feature Wishlist". ....

sounds like you're just up against the basic monitoring design of the program. auto will monitor your playing when in record mode, otherwise it will monitor the clip playing on the track.

monitor "in" is always the input

i think having two sets of tracks could be your best bet

there's also midi overdub mode if you're recording midi clips and not audio, but that will record all the new notes - you're not just _hearing_ your playing, you're adding to the existing clip
