Ok, so I'm trying to get the midi of my track out of Ableton to use in Logic. There are different swings on the clips and a global groove amount of 45%. So, I set the recording quantisation to "None", create a new midi track and record the output of the midi track with the clips on it. Once I've run the song down, I check the newly recorded clip against its parent track's clips...close enough I guess although not as close as I'd like.
Then I export the newly recorded clip and open in Logic..whaaa? everything is quantised to 1/16 notes.
I've used other groove slicing and midi export programs such as recycle, phatmatik etc and the midi comes in fine. Not sure why the midi from Ableton was incorrect. Any tips from anyone that's been able to do this sucessfully?
(Oh yes! I am on Live 4.1.4 and using a Motu 828 interface. Also, The default setting on the incoming loop is Auto.)
