Ah, of course one of my bold danish brothers would respond!!! (My grandmother was danish. One of 13 kids!)

Ayway, I mean I try and try to follow the steps correctly annd I get nothing. No sound, no image of a clip in the slot, nothing. I find I need step by step instructions to record and that without them I get a bit lost. So yeah, silence, because there is nothing getting recorded. Not even a file in my audio folder!!!

Help me out obi-wan! You're my only hope!!!

I follow the directions to the letter and get no sound or no recorded clip. Nothing. I mean, how hard is it to record? Grrr...

Also, Live 3 in Panther is currently bowling me under.

I don't understand.

Session view:
You set up an input on a track, arm the track for recording, click one of the red dots and get...!?

Tis most odd if this is the case.

OK, so I CAN'T set up an input on a track. In the arrannger, it shows up empty. I can't select either the built in mic or the Imic I plug in. Weird. No wonder I can't record.

Grrrr....

Check your preferences - make sure the correct audio in is selected. Then from the top most of the three pull down menus on the channel strip (session view is easiet), select Live In, then from the middle most, select the appropriate port - it'll most likely default to the single stereo in of the selected device.

Hope you work it out, else don't hesitate to ask again,

He's the one having the problems, not me. Maybe it's like, oh, everything else, so Live doesn't work in the States? (J/K, J/K :) :))

OKAY, here's where it gets weird. I have deleted my prefs more times than I can count. Afterwards, every time I select the internal audio ASIO or the Imic. And still in the arrange view, there is a gray box underneath the track automation selecter (it reads "mixer, speaker, volume, panning"). And I can't acces it. I don't even get the red indicator in a track slot. Zilch.

I have further concerns that my app is just fucked. The prefs never seem to remember where my VST's are and then alot of the VST's don't even show up. Should I just wipe live form the machine and reinstall?

Sounds as though there is a problem related to your prefs, but you got the wrong menu in any case. The one you're talking about relates to mixer automation. Either switch to session view and choose from the menu which is most likely labelled 'none' (set it to 'live in'), or from the arrange view, make sure that 'in / out' in the view menu bar menu is checked, then you'll see the input assignment (which'll be labelled 'none') drop down menu appear - set it live in, then set the track to record arm and enable the master record in the transport controls.

Sure this isn't in the manual?!

Also, in the prefs under AUDIO, it says for output built in audio 2 in / 2 out. ANd then for audio output the same. This is an Ibook 700 here. It's only got a headphone out. What the fuck?

Also it does not see Bidule at all... but I need to get the audio issue fixed first.

The iBook input is the built in microphone.

Still, I can't get anything out of it. I see sound going into it, but I can't select it in the arranger. Can't select anything. Pissin' me off!
