OSX PANTHER ISSSUES: Live 2 vs. Live 3

First off, spare me any mac vs. pc bull.

Running:
Ibook 700mhz, 640
OSX 10.3 PANTHER
Live 3

Live 3 boots with 5% cpu usage
Live 2.1.1 with 2%
I built a set in Live 2.1.1 with at least 2 fx per track (8 tracks) and 2-3 on 2 sends. 8 clip running simultaneously.
Live 2.1.1, with the set parked, is at 30% CPU. Running, the set is at 71%.
Live 3, same set: parked, it's at 45%, Running is 88%.

I won't even venture into screen redraw and time lag. Suffice it to say it's impressively slow.

Anyone else experiencing same? Different? Any ideas to ameliorate this situation. Cuz it sucks.

I love LIVE, but this is a HUGE step backwards.

Wow, this is quite something.

I never tried to start up LIve 2 after I got v3, but I will do so as soon as possible and report my results.

My setup: PB 867, 768RAM, OS 10.3, MOtu828

format
