oh , don't worry I've already had a beer or two.

I guess every team wants a final game against the hosts, but for me England Germany would have been a real dream final. We wouldn't have got past Brazil to reach that though, which would have been a shame. I felt we could have beaten Portugal though.

I know English fans, and players, though. Ronaldo won't have a happy premiership season. Our fans have a terrible reputation for good reason, but when someone does us wrong ... oof . he will feel it.

edit

I just realised I am assuming Brasil win vs France, we'll see how that turns out.

damn, it's a bit hard watching a match after such disapointment.

I'll think happy thought.

Live 6 to be anounced on the 14th at namm, that sort of thing

i hate this french team. brazil looks like shit right now. i dont agree with the formation brazil is playring right now, leaving ronaldo out there alone isn't the best idea at this point.

i'd put adriano in there.

well....no surprises theere - I didnt see it though, but now thanks to this thread I wont!

would have been great to see Eng-Ger but pipe dream really - they always seem to do it this way - get to a certain poin then crumble - I cant help wondering if teamwork has alot to do with it - too many egos or something

but anyway - my prediction? Hosts to win - morale is high, home turf

It's not so much that Roony stepped on a guy's balls, it's that he did it right in front of the ref, that's dumb. I'd like to see the video again to watch the players' faces. Anyway, I'm sure he'll be more mature in the next cup, he was just frustrated. PK's were fun to watch. Don't worry England, you still have the Premiereship in your own backyard, lucky sods.

Italy was fun to watch, they were a different team, but they weren't challenged. Nice goals. :D They played with a lot of swagger, I wonder if that confidence will get them their asses handed to them in the next round.

Italy's play reminded me of Argentina when they played Germany, a short, fast team, keep the ball on the ground, nutmeg the big guys.

France played a tight game, kept Brazil away from net. It seemed that Brazil was waiting too much for something to happen and France was quick to swarm on any individual moves. I'd much rather watch Brazil play in future games than France, but that's the fucking way she goes.

So, my picks are f-ing shot, but good games all around. Hooray Host Nation. ;)

I watched both games yesterday at a pub in Williamsburg. Both games were very exciting + engaging. I was torn because in both games I sorta wanted both teams to win. And even though I wanted both teams to win it still seemed like an upset when the winners prevailed.

It bummed me out watching Brazil lose. France was the stronger team. What's up with all of the people on this thread calling Ronaldo a fat bastard? He didn't bring enough heat in his attack, none of the Brazilians did, but he sure wasn't a fat + lazy bastard.

The players on both teams seemed to have a decent amount of respect for one another. That's always nice to see.

Too bad all of the hopes and dreams of the British Empire were put in the lap of a boob like Paul Robinson. Ouch. I haven't played the sport since I was a kid, but I think that even I could have done a better job than he in those final PKs. Ugly.

I'm greatly saddened by the German articles of the last days. I don't understand the reason why German press attacks Italy so hardly. I want to launch a message to all German people: Everyday, in our political debates, we hold Germany up as an example and we think highly of your People. Football is a beautiful game but is a game only.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be a great match and I think we will win

Forget it , here everybody is just on constant high enjoying the whole championship, people cheering the supporters of other teams, everybody love the Italians here for their "madness" after all Italians are the ultimate gurus of how to celebrate their team. Germans learned it from Italians only. Finally learnt not just to watch Italians with amusment but do the same. It is fantastic seeing various minorities much antagonised before-Italians, Turks,Greeks etc united in having fun together these days.
I guess it is the shit "Bild" the most pervert paper in the universe..These bastards were throwing shit on Klinsmann for past 20 years, and anyone else who wouldnt dance to their tunes, their so called journalists would pimp their own mothers and sisters. Everybody is excited looking forward -it will be great game.. So do not bother it is not true, it is one shit paper quoting another shit paper. I guess theiy are in panic since things went out of their control- which is scaring people, spreading negativity, this championship changed Germans dramaticly, from gloomy, pesimists into friendly, happy, party people and those volture journalists have no clue how to react to it.
No worry Italians , Germans still adore you.

P.S. having said all that, I am sorry to predict Italia will be going home one Tuesday

What's great about this tournament is to see how Klinsmann has managed to change the whole character of the team, and through perhaps even the character of German soccer. I've never seen a more playfull & adventurous german team than this one and it is a joy to watch..I hope this positive attitude will get them far...
Personally, it's quite a first for me to absolutely prefer a German team over a dutch team, but the Dutch complete lack of quality & physical and mental fitness has made me to loathe this team.
Pity Argentina got kicked out by a cowardly coach...their game is beautiful to watch

I was thoroughly impressed with Argentina watching the match against Mexico.

I was totally disgusted with Argentina seeing their violent reaction to losing to Germany on youtube last night.

Go Germany!

Italy will be beaten anyway. 8)
