fruity live project5
It's my understanding that you can only use project5 or fruity loops beta to host vsti then rewire into live. Well I've tried project5 and it's buggy as hell with my vsti's... Does anyone have a link/source for the fruity loops beta client? santa???

Treat yourself to Bidule. It has Rewire, plays nicely with Live, it's funky and it... no wait for it..... it... it.... it.... WORKS!!!!!!

it's not buggy as far as i can tell (it's at release candidate 2 i think)
it's slightly awkward to use compared with reason rewired (you have to click on a little window to switch between master and slave and you have to press play and stop in live for it to sync).
i like the fact that fruity that it has pattern sequencing - very cool!

flrewire is the bomb, not buggy at all, I perform with it weekly rewired to live, kick ass. Throw down the measly $125 or so and get it--it is awesome for the step sequencers capabilities alone, not to mention the vstis, dx efffects, older versions of waves plugins, .... P5 is dreadfully buggy as rewire, its interface is horrible, and it is cpu heavy--in short it sucks big time.

i have found the FLstudio rewire beta to be rather buggy--fruity freezes when closing, and the lack of transport control from fl is a drag. the dev team at fruity claim they are working on this, but presently the explanation is that fl is effectively running as a "plugin" during rewire, hence the need for the weird little switching window.
cpu usage is also pretty bad--lots of spiking during rewire usage. 50% cpu inside fruity as a standalone jumps to about 80% when rewired to live.
the beta is only available to fruity owners, unfortunately.
plogue is not really an equal replacement, since it doesn't handle sequencing.

Well it does to an extent. The Step Sequencer, allthough limited is now slavable since 0.6501.1 (latest).umami wrote: plogue is not really an equal replacement, since it doesn't handle sequencing.
As a replacement you can use various VST-based MIDI sequencers,
like stepchild, and there are more to come from other developpers...
stay tuned.

i wouldn't qualify step sequencing as comparable to a piano roll + event editor such as fruity. then again, plenty of people use trackers too.Anonymous wrote:Well it does to an extent. The Step Sequencer, allthough limited is now slavable since 0.6501.1 (latest).
like what? i've not heard of anything like this. do tell more!As a replacement you can use various VST-based MIDI sequencers,

to see what it lookslike:

and you could also use FruityLoops as a VST inside
Bidule (as ReWire Slave in Live),
and use its MIDI out to sync other VSTis
Or find ... another way of pluging all those things toghther
