Need your help please. I just bought an upgrade to Live 4...

Hello friends,

I just bought the upgrade to live 4 on ebay, and I have ableton live lite 4.1. Will I be able to upgrade my live lite to this full version?

I got my live lite bundled with my Emu 1212m card I bought at Guitar center. Thank you for you help. I hope its possible.

I got it because it said full version and It was cheaper too. Also, the guy has a good feedback on ebay so I trusted it. Now, I still need to pay for it, but I really want to know if it will work.

If it doesnt, I still need to pay for it, because I made a committment to buy it on ebay and I have great feedbak and dont wanna mess it up. Please help me out. I hope I dont have to own a previous version because I dont have one, I only have the live lite version.

Thanks for your advice man. I will email them. I was going to buy the upgrade to ableton 5 straight from ableton shop but happened to check ebay and I saw the upgrade to full live 4 version an only one person bidding.

thats only the software.. i should imagine you will also need to pay for a licence

Ok, now i am really confused. I don't understand. I own Live lite version 4.1.2 that came with my EMU1212 bundled. I unlocked it online through abletons website. Now, if I get this live 4 upgrade software, I have to pay again? Please explain if you can. Thank you so much.

hmm, not sure at all, ive confused myself, but you cant take a 'VLK' so to speak, you get with a bundled piece of software and use it on the full s/w package..

speak to ableton as someone said i think

That advertises an upgrade to 4 IF YOU OWN A LICENSE FOR Live 1, 2, OR 3.
Unless you own a license for Live 1, 2 or 3 I doubt you will get the upgrade because that is what you bought.

Live 4 Software Specifics

This is the upgrade version of Live 4, for users of Live version 1-3 (both regular and LITE versions) to upgrade to version 4. All manuals and discs are included in the original packaging.

so if he's telling the truth and he knows what he's talking about then it sounds like it'll work. but if he's lying and/or full of shi* then it won't work.

50 bucks for like 5... that is if he's legit. I really don't trust that stuff on ebay. I mean even if it's a real copy and what not if he's still using it on his computer you may have a problem someday when ableton decides one of you is not legal and you get the copy violation. because of course we all know you can only use it on one computer (supposebly)

Its a dodgy area full stop.

Look at it this way. Live is THE best sequencing/live performance software bar none. The quality is awesome and compared to any other software, like cubase, logic or pro tools, its dirt cheap anyway.

Buy a legit copy and make music in peace, withouit the worries.

Nuff said.

Exactly. Thats why I bought it because I saw that it said LITE version should work. But what I failed to see was that it said versions 1-3 and thats why I am confused as to whether it will work. I contacted the seller and he said that it is an unregistered upgrade to Live 4.

Anyways, I am still going to pay him because I took a chance and should have seen it where it said version 1-3. I hope it works because I really love this program. It really is a blessing because I can record in realtime,
I would have had the money to upgrade to live 5, but I had to buy a controller. I got the Axiom 61 from Digitraxx.com for only 265 dollars so most of the cash went there.
Otherwise I would have bought the live5 and when I saw this deal on ebay I jumped on it right away. Anyways, I hope it does work. If not, I will have to take a loss. At least my live lite gives me four tracks.
