Post by jamief » Mon Dec 22, 2003 2:18 am

OSX 10.2
G4 1 ghz DP
1.75 gig ram

Same problem hear. i thought i was going mad and had forgot how to work live. The graphics for the input choice are missing and the ability to select clips to record has been disabled. It looks just as if its somehow stuck in demo mode with the audio record ability disabled.

Ableton please help.

I seem to have the same problem running on the same machine with OS9.2

You should email support with this - it sounds VERY strange. Let us know what you come up with!

Hi jamief,

I think the problem is solved within this thread : http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6115

For all other when having related problems, please get sure that you have selected an audio input device Live's audio preferences and that you enabled the 'In / Out' View (from the View menu or using Cmnd + Alt + I resp. Ctrl+Alt + I) so that you can select the input source.

regards,
Alex

record probs...

dear mr. crt,

it sounds very similiar to what i was experiencing when i first started tweekin. i was using a g3 500 (still got it) ,but have since upgraded. i could not get it to record either! i was also using an imic at the time. i wrote ableton support and got intouch with christian klien (the best!). he told me that i first needed to upgrade my osx. i was using 10.2 at the time (now using panther). it did wonders! there are other issues at work here. first_ you need to stop deleting your preferences! go into your system prefs and look under the "mic"prefs and find where the "listening" prefs is. make sure its turned to your imic! you should also go to the griffen site. there are some peculiar "ins and outs" to an imic. it wont work under certain circumstances very well. somtimes not at all. in general "live" and the imic aren't very good companions. although they do work under all the right circumstances.
