It should help
that's quite good -
but with that plugin .. often if I restart at (say) bar 6 the video restarts at 0 .
If I have a one bar loop at bar 6 then the video loops back to the start, rather than loop back to 10 seconds.
shame, it worked for me ok a few times but then failed, a beta version though , so it's to be expected.

I'm all for video. :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

I like the idea of the video capability being integrated into Live itself, not a plug-in.

 If you could route just the Quicktime video image to a video output, that would be really cool. Then us sound design geeks could plug in a monitor, and the VJ people could hook up their projectors.

 It should have enough features to keep the pros happy, and it would be great if there were some really wild Abletony effects too. Think Grain Delay for video... Video Warp... Let me sync the video effects to the BPM...

This is getting painful. It would be so cool that I can't even think about it any longer becuase it hurts.

just a window, a single resizable window, with videos to score... in sync with the audio timeline.

make it inside live, make it as a plug in.

make it, please!

If Video features are to be added, this should be done the Operator way. People who need it should pay extra to get it.

I would prefer 'the Impulse way' , or the 'Live EQ way'
If you dont want to use impulse - you dont, if you dont want to use Live's EQ or reverb you don't. Simple. Just don't use it, so why should people who use a particular optional function pay more?

I never ever use EQ3 - should I have some money knocked off the upgrade?

have you ever used the bit crusher? no, then by your logic the bit crusher thing should be a paid add-on!

Unless you haven't noticed ALL of lives devices are optional, they don't eat up resources just sat in the browser you know!

true, but making a video plugin would undoubtedly be expersive, like creating a whole instrument like operator, for wich you pay seperate.

It's not exactley the standard audio software feature, like an eq

pointless.

I need to score.

People always pay for new features, either their implemented or not, when they're worth it.

And we're not talking 'bout a new synth, but a simple window monitor.

I'm testing this, that seems to work even if it's the usual messy workaround, thanks to geoffroy, which has the problem in mind:

i agree, a video window is not an entire new synth & shouldnt really be
an optional paid extra... unless it was part of a paid optional psot production
package that say, included 5.1 panning & routing, custom timecode markers etc....

I'd also lay money that a lot of the people that only use ableton LIVE as a DJ
program & 'who have no need for video' might find themselves hitting up
their VJ friends to render videos for their sets...

Video window should be the part of basic version (no extra payment) because Live is professional production system and video window is must-have feature for this type of application. All its competitors have this feature for free

With Quicktime video support, Live enters the world of post-production. Drag and drop movies directly into Live's Arrangement View, and monitor the result on a video window or second screen. Then, align music to visuals, and process the movie's audio signal within Live. It has never been easier to improvise, compose and warp music to picture.
