have you tried just using kontakt?......it seems overlooked but the beat machine tool in there can be put to great use and provide far more interesting results if your willing to get your hands dirty....

Intakt - Mac/PC

I'm still trying to figure out the Kontakt slicer.
Hoping version 2 is a little more straight forward.

Not a plug-in but Audiofinder does slicing. Pretty cool but Mac only.

cheers

intakt is pretty neat, but you get the benefits of a full blown sampler with kontakt.....the only problem with kontakt is that it's so not user friendly..imo........the manuals are terribly written...you actually have to figure things out for yourself in reference with the manual and once you get it you realize how easy it is if the manual didn't complicate it.....this is one reason why i wont choose to learn reaktor...that manual is terrible...........

i chose max/msp instead------great document writers...

Something about Kontakt I just luv. I do wish they'd kinda make the slicer more simple etc. Are you using version 2?

Oh ya there is also Liveslice

For PC only... they say a Mac version is planned.

Post by funknotik » Sat Jul 08, 2006 1:59 am

I tried recycle. That shit didnt work at all. I made a bunch of rex files which are apparently only useful in reason. ANy way to have the chops split up and put in impulse/ableton??? I couldnt figure it out!

I was just chekin the demos on the Liveslice site. Man I wish that was available for mac. You can just move the slices around and shit. Nice clean interface. Wish the L6 would have something like this.

"that shit" has worked since long before reason existed.

anyways, just export the slices as .wavs or .aiffs and export the midi for the timing. load the wav/aiffs into impule to use in live. easy as pie.

you can export the wav as single slice wavs, then use it in any sequencer you like.

Checking out liveslice. Im currently trying to get recycle to perform as i want it to, I understood what ejectorset said about exporting as wav. Perhaps im missing something it doesnt seem to allow me to export the individual chops as wav or aiffs. I also keep experiencing a problem where recycle says the current sound device is not functioning. Maybe a bug? Anyway thanks gonna keep trying..

The slicer in fl studio is based on zero-x's beatcreator. Its similar to recycle in that it's a standalone slicer/dicer.

But its also kind of nifty.
