Using Live with Digi 001
Hi, I just got live and am trying to setup Digi 001 as my I/O device for my audio, however in Preferences it is not there as one of the selection, only "Built in Audio Controller".
Can someone tell me how I can use Digi 001 to record live into LIVE?
Thank you!!

i'm at my audio midi setup, but when i goto select my audio devices/system settings/default input the only option i have to choose is my built in audio controller. on my midi devices i have my 001 ready to connect to other devices...i however don't wanna connect midi, i just wanna connect to record into live. i don't wanna connect midi right now, how do i get my digi 001 to my default input?
oh yeah...
i'm running live 2.1.1 on Digi001/protools 6.1 upgraded from 5.3.1 on a dual gig MDDG4.

You don't need ASIO anything. Download and install Protools6.2.2 and live 3.0.2
Then all you should have to do ( in Live preference)is select device type"core audio" which should be a default and then select device output' HWdevice16in18out" and Input device "the same HWdevice16in18out"
And your good to go, I'd also reccomend setting the buffer setting to 256 instead of 512 that way you'll have 10ms of latency instead of 22ms which is where it get noticable.
Live and the 001 are a great combo, been using the 2 together for a long time it seems like years.

hey-
good news. i've got my 001 in to live. now, the question, it seems is how do i record in live? is that an elementary question to ask? i feel like this is the last step...and oh yeah. how do i lower my buffer size in 2.1.1? it seems like i'mma have to stick with this version since my 001 core audio isn't supported in 2.1.2.

I would really upgrade to Live 3.0.2 if I were you.
Yes, your recording question is elementary. Check the manual or watch a few of the live demos. But here's your bone fido:) On the track you want to record to, set the channel input to "Live in" select which you want to record (ex. mic line1,2), select the little red record button on the and hit the little triangle, in the clip slot. Or you can trigger recording from the transport or triggering the whole scene. READ THE MANUAL!
I don't think you;ll be able to change buffer setting in live2.
Trust me spring for Live3, it's so worth it! Live and Core audio are finally starting to really jive
