I'm not to sure - my neighbors probably only hear the high frequencies when the windows are open

I don't think my room is acoustical correct but I don't really turn it up loud so...who knows?

I needed to get the monitors up to ear level so I took them from the turntable set-up and put them on my desk

back in 99 I was all about warehouse raves so I got some cinder blocks for my decks - funny, but they work

Yeah- they have since been put on brick cylinders ghetto style to bring them up to ear level as well... i can actually hear the highs much better, and the mids arent being sucked down into the bottom.... there is magic in them bricks. You can throw them at people too!

wow i just went from alaska to the sonoran desert (i love extrem change)
118 yesterday
new rig short a 1200 right now..and 6 just set that back 3 more months

Holy Cow Mike you had that old desk loaded man! Where did you sit!

It's not a bad desk, we have two of them. I think they were like $150.00 each. What made you get rid of yours? We are getting ready to move and I can tell you the desksw are not going to make the journey. They were a real pain in the ass just to move into the middle of the room when we painted last fall.

jerker tip:

flip the main desk around so that the cutout is in the back. with gear lined across the front, i find the cutout to be a problem. plus, then you can push it tight against the back wall, and have a nice little path for cords to go down!

But I actually like that curve. Helps me get a wee bit closer to the synths on shelf #2.

that photo was before i figured out exactly how bad putting the studio in the corner was... the desk took up alot of space when i moved out of the corner.

JERKER! wow a few of those in the forum nice!

i love that desk, i'm with lo-fi on the cut out, however i should move the synth down a shelf..it's the only thing that gets regular useage out of those. the boxes belong in a display case!!

fair enough if you guys like the cutout

i had to do some more intensive mods to my jerker when i moved into my current apartment. there's a little alcove where i have put the desk, but it was just a bit narrower than the jerker size, so i cut apart the metal support for the upper shelf and the bottom brace, welded them back together, and cut a couple of notches in the main desk that allow the surface to wrap around the vertical supports.

i also cut two of the 12" magazine racks apart, bent and welded them so that they hold speakers now. doesn't stick out nearly as much as the stock swivelling jerker shelves. I drilled a few holes in the rack ears of my mixer, and bolted that to the jerker frame also.
