no live 6 announcement?
HA! most people here are not old enough to remember all the different "craft" that was supposed to be common by this year. I can remember books with little pictures of all these hovercraft/flying cars/etc.......trip_out wrote:Well I want my hoverbike...eyeknow wrote:Um, I want my announcment, as well as anything else commin' up at namm........

AND I WANT IT NOW!
They can hold off a bit on the release if it means a more stable version of 6, but i think the suspense over the new features is killing us. I think we would all be happy just knowing what the hell the Abes have been up to, and what we can expect to see in 6. There must be 100 threads on live 6 features, this summer alone... all ending with wishlists..
So, in Live 6, I want TIME warp, so I can rewind time and keep working on my track for an extra hour before I go to work. There.

I honestly don't think that it is going to be dropped soon.
Point 1: In the NAMM playback supplement that has caused all of this speculation it says, "....and the LAUNCH of Ableton 6." (caps mine).
What this means to me is that this online supplement was created awhile back, when Ableton may have been shooting for a LAUNCH of LIVE6 to coincided with summer NAMM, just like usual, but something happened to delay it.
Point 2: They gave us a bit of information of new stuff in LIVE5 prior to dropping the beta. We have not had any information for months. In fact, all we know is that it is supposed to be multi-core optimized. That's it...period.
I just really don't think we will see it today.
Hope I am wrong.

it is always interesting to see how a company handles a launch. some tease their customers with a partial reveaiing, like with NI Kore. On a marketing pov, i found it rather miserable, so maybe its a gud thing to be left in the dark, as long as we know what the deadline is... and it is almost now!!
well anyways, im also very curious about Live 6...
(and on this i end my post, without any feature wishes!

Yes, but in the NAMM supplement, it says LAUNCH. I am sure that LAUNCH means to put it into the commercial marketplace. I doubt they will do that without a public beta period, from past experience. Therefore, I believe that this supplement, which has caused all the rumours in the mill, is erroneous at this point in time.
I just don't think we will be seeing anything today.
And I just don't want people to be disappointed.

Hey, where was that teaser? Just checked Harmony Central, and couldn't find anything.
Sorry for my voice of "dissent", I would love to see LIVE 6 as much as anyone else, but I just have to say what I have to say.
Cheers,
AB

They always seem to do a mixture of both: concentrate on effects, etc., and work on things like workflow.
I think that they need to do a bit to the arrange window. It seems to be the one that gets the least respect from Ableton to this point in time.

I am patient, especially since i am currently broke and do not own a multi-cpu or core processor computer. An ambiguous feature list would be enough to hold us over for a bit if this summer NAMM thing isn't true.
There are no teasers anywhere, no beta, no news from the crew... i don't think anything will be out today, but if something is, I would think this forum would be the first to post the news... refresh... refresh.....
