Yes but unfortunately Mario Units plugins are unlikely to be adopted for some time.

wow... the ignorance in this world is just suprising. you can make music with a god damn rock. or a piece of paper. but you can't make it on a pc? fuck that. maybe you're just too stupid to make music on a pc. I know macs are faster. who gives a shit. I've considered trying to find a commidor 64 cause I like the sounds they make. and those are slow. you probably don't remember them cause you've only just now got into computers.

C64!!! I got a welcome surprise when playing GTA Vice City on PS2 for the first time, on the loading screen, it starts up just like the C64 - where you type "Load - Streetfighter" etc. Memories!!!
Anyway, I agree, music is achieved on anything. Including the voice alone, and the wind itself. There is no 'faster wind, so I'll only use that, the other one is crap' garbage. Use what you can.
Some of the most touching, poignant music was made centuries ago, in the heads of gifted people. 8O

If you're feeling nostalgic for soundtracks from games of old, check out MP3s from Minibosses:

"Wizards and Warriors" is a really good cover.

If you are interested in the sounds from a C64 and are handy with a soldering iron then check out www.ucapps.de and look at the SID project.

Cheers

As a mac user, I have to say this is wrong unfortunately. At least on the new pbooks. I just bought one pbook 3 months ago and I'm now considering selling it. on 10.3.2, with a motu 828, even Reason is not as CPU-light as it used to be ! If I just used Live and Reason, I think I would turn to a PC laptop. But I'm also a DP user so I may try to get a older pbook and boot back into os 9. Holy progress !!!

well, you see, that's the difference between mac and peecee users - the passion and love for their machines.
But, as you can clearly see in my post, I am a mac user.

pc users who slag off mac users who slag off pc users

All very interesting and reminds me a lot of the car heads i know talking about ford vs holden.
My opinion , and that is all it is - my opinion, is that after using both platforms I prefer using my G4 ibook for music composition and performance. My PC is very powerful and also very stable and does some things better, I also have more software options on PC.

Use whatever platform you prefer or use both. Allow other people to use the equiptment they prefer. If you're sure you're right, does it matter if someone else doesn't agree? I think possibly as artists and musicians we should be showing the rest of the world examples of tolerence and acceptance of ideas different to our own.
