Sampler does look to be the shiz. However, if I get it then they've done their job on lock-you-in to a single DAW plugin strategy (a la Operator)

Damn you and your great plugins!

:)

Hopefully there is an intro price for Sampler before the $199 tag is in effect!

What about the dual core support, how is it on your macbook pro ?
Thanks
great

here are some numbers:

Live 5 - 40% on performance test, without the .kext fix (see performance test thread)
Live 5 - 30% on performance test, WITH .kext fix

Live 6 Alpha - 25% without the fix
Live 6 Alpha - 18% with the fix

(but without the fix the speedstepping turns off once i get to about 65%, so it can be pushed just as far with or without the fix in Live 6, good for battery life.)

#'s are subject to change, this is just the alpha.
thats really disappointing, I hope they can squeeze more respectable numbers in the later versions.

Adamjay,

Big one for me; how is the integration/ automapping with Mackie Control? I seem to remember you have one. This has been a sticking point in functionality w/ Live 5. Is it any closer to the MCU's usability with Logic?

Do you already regret revealing that you are an Alpha? (:

Oh yeah-

And I want to know more about "deep freeze." Saw it in the video; didnt really get what it does, but looks like it allows you to still edit frozen tracks.

I'll stop. I need to go and read more on the site.

Thanks again for your contributions to the software and the team.

Screenshot #6

The various tabs of SAMPLER

Loaded into sampler in these screenshots in the Junkie XL konakt library.
the Zone tab allows you to view and hide the large piano roll/multisample display above the Sampler instrument.

the Sample tab allows you to edit individual or multiple selected samples within a library.

Pitch OSC / Filter/Globals and Modulation are the other tabs. These are very fun, with lots of modulation capabilities.

you can copy and paste frozen clips to other tracks. and treat them as audio clips.

you can also flatten a freezed midi track, which turns all midi clips into audio clips

and i havent yet fired up the mackie control since the Alpha started.

Gotcha;

I am actually reading more on the site now (:

I understand deep freeze;

Is flatten basically a "rendered" track?

You can also edit length of frozen clips in arrangement, drag frozen clips from Session to arrangement, record frozen clips from session to arrangement, edit arragement while clips are frozen... and lots more.

Flatten gives the audio result of the frozen track, turns the track into an audio track without devices.

Ableton GUI is simply fantastic, congrats to their designers. It's hard to design a multi-sampler instrument using such little space. Great work!
