WAV files sound like Phaser in Live 3.0.1

Post by dfusion » Mon Dec 29, 2003 9:17 pm

I am trying a demo of Live 3.0.1 and whether I select one of the audio files that come with Live or my own WAV file they don't sound right. It's almost as if they sound like they are phasing in and out. Does anyone know what this is?

Sonds like an issue with looping on your soundcard.

Do you have the inputs and outputs of your soundcard going into the same mixer? What type of soundcard are you using?

Hi. Thanks for offering help. Here are my specs..

Dell Dimension 4600, P4/2.4/1GB
WinXP Pro SP1a
Echo Mia

I do not have anything connected to my inputs and my Mackie HR824's are connected directly to my outputs of the Mia. I appreciate the help. :(

High quality switched on in preferences? Warp switched on without warp markers being setup properly?

Hmm... I don't know about a Phaser effect happening, but I know that sometimes all your WAV files may have a slight echo/flange if your default Warp Mode is set to "Texture".

You can find the Warp Mode in a clip here:

And you can also find the Default Warp Mode in your preferences here:

Your Default Clip Preferences are applied to any new clips that you import, and also can be heard during audio auditioning as you browse through your sound library.

Good luck!

I changed the Warp Mode to Tone and my samples are playing nomrally. That was pretty bizarre as I don't remember changing that preference. Thank for everyone's help. I'm going to work with Live this weekend and see if I'll permanently incorporate this program into my studio. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Mark
