recording tracks

hey guys just a quick question from a new user. how can i hear what im recording over my speakers or headphones as im recording it. for example ill lay down a rhythm section but than have a hardtime putting a lead or solo over it because i cant hear the notes im playing until after ive finished recording. is there a way to have what im recording go through the speakers at the same time so im not playing deaf?

just turn the other tracks down, and your current track up, if you get some clipping (cracks) it doesnt matter as you can turn them down after.
