I also took a look at the Virus (Polar). I just never trust USB for audio if it's not USB 2. I wonder why a relatively new and expensive device still comes with ancient USB 1.1 and not USB 2 or, even better, firewire.

TI OS 1.2.1 came out today... to date it is by far the best release.... have not yet experienced any of the problems in Live that I have in the past... go get it!

that's great!! that at least somebody's getting use out of the damn thing...
I've not had any crackling nowadays since OS v1.0.9...(and frankly- everyone should check their audio card driver versions too, if you're not using Virus as your audio interface...) after I updated my HDSP9632 drivers the TI sounds even more fantastic!
HOWEVER-
Ever since it came out of the box, TI's LFO/arp sync has sounded like a drunken friggin' mess when I use it in Live (...or eXT, so it ain't just Live...)
VERY dissappointing. I get more use out of Synth1 and Z3ta's arps
Until they (Ableton and/or Access...frankly don't know who to bitch to...been trying to be patient...) The TI's a really nice sample creator :P
on the up side, the keyboard controller is outstanding 8)

...I'm waiting a while on 1.2.1 installation... maybe I'm just paranoid, but this quote led me to consider that arp timing could potentially go sideways for some people with the 1.2.1 version
>as per ampfea access virus mailing list from Marc Schlaile of Access:
the update contains new features, that's why it jumped from 1.1.x to 1.2.x -
the arp timing was pretty fine in 1.1.1pb so in case you discover a
nightmare in terms of arp timing, you need to check if 1.2 will help you
solve the problem or contact support. we did work a lot on crackling issues
and overall stability issues. we also found a bug which could relate to
your hanging note problem.

1.2.1 is working fine for me...

btw, its easy to revert to an older version of the OS (on a Mac at least, not sure how easy on Windows).

It's no different from loading a new OS except you have to answer the question saying "do you really want to load an older OS"

same here. 1.2.1r2 seems to have resolved my "drunken arp" issue as well as intermittent crackles and pops.
