VST delay reccs

Post by Shift » Tue Feb 28, 2006 1:24 am

hello all. wondering if any of you could recommend a good VST with a pretty long delay time? currently using Audiodamage Ronin & like it quite a bit, but sometimes I don't want all the other features - LFOs, filters, distortion - and I figure there's gotta be something similar (8-10 sec. delay) without all that stuff that would free up some CPU usage. right? neither google or a search of this forum have turned up much though. any reccomendations?

seriously nothing? maybe i should just get a Boss DD-5/6 and run stuff out/back in... i think my best non-Ronin delay is 3 seconds. anything better/longer i should know about or look into?

PC or mac?
depends on what you're looking for - is the only requirement that you have a very long delay-line?
there are tons of freeware looping delays out there with a very very very long delay time indeed: 32 bars anyone?
check out kvr, you'll find at least a couple from a quick 5 minute search, I can almost guarantee it.

Andreas (still waiting for the Ableton Looper plugin ;) )
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

thanks. i haven't used the KVR site in a long while because i didn't find it had much outside of what i already owned in the past. seems to have much more than i remember listed now.

can anyone comment on this? The Augustus Loop by Expert Sleepers?

Seems nice, but maybe processor-intensive... I'm downloading the demo & am gonna check it out now.

edit: should have mentioned, i'm mac. AU recommendations - like the Augustus Loop - are also more than welcome. though i might have found just what i'm looking for in that.

Processor usage is much reduced if you engage the 'digital mode', added in v1.6.0.

Not that it's particularly high anyway. :)

What about Audiodamage´s own DubStation? I believe that´s basically Ronin´s delay module with a different GUI.
