If you had a choice between an AKAI MPD and Tringerfinger
Vakis don't buy that wait for MPD24 when it comes out or get the trigger finger, the mpd16 is rubbish in comparison to the trigger finger

I just bought a Trigger Finger a month ago, and I am happy with it. To be honest, I wanted the Live Lite software so that I could get a discount on the full version. If you aren't in a rush, you should really wait for the mpd 24. That's probably going to be the one to beat. I think it even comes with some drum sample libraries, so it will probably be worth the wait.

mpd24 is too clunky, mpd16 too sparse (and both aren't that good on the trigger side)
Trigger finger (the newer versions) are as good at triggering as the mpds, and the Korg PADkontrol smokes them all.
The only thing that's open for discussion is whether or not you're willing to accept the red blinky lights on the Korg. - but they're definitely the best triggers out there, imo.

I'd have a mod done to switch out the lights. Should be easy. And an X/Y pad is really useful for all sorts of stuff - virtual faders, iPod-style scroll-wheel and so on...Socketeer wrote:Yeah thats what i dont like about the korg, it looks a bit boy george with those pink pad lights. The roll/flam stuff does sound cool though.

Wait if your talking about the mpd thats already out the one with no knobs and only two faders, which i believe is the mpd16. Dont get that one, if you must have an akai product wait for the mpd24. If not get the trigger finger once you get used to the difference in these trigger finger pads from the mpc it wont be a problem. The mpd16 really sucks... <<<<<

All beats in this track are 100% Live Arp.
Curious how you use the arp for beats....
