if you've got the opportunity to try sampler (maybe during beta), do it though
it might even give you some other perspectives for using kontakt.

As far as i'm aware, you can click on operator and uninstall it, within preferences, just like you can the presets. Correct me if i'm wrong?

Also, if you don't want the presets there, just go into your presets folder in "my docs" and delete the operator folder. Bye bye presets, no?
ahhhh i will look at this today

Total crap if you ask me. I did not want to buy it, I did not want to demo it, and I did not want to install it on my computer. Even when I say "hide" in the options in live all the clips remain.
..but it would help a lot if all the Sampler presets were contained in a single folder marked Sampler Presets or something, right? then you would a) know what you were clicking, and b) be able to delete the folder if you wish?
This too is a good idea. I just think that when you install Live 5 and Live 6 it should stop for a moment and you get the "would you like to install the Sampler/Operator demo and its presets ?" screen with a simple yes or no answer. Easy.

I bet it could but the same could be said for samplitude and all the other samplers out there and I am not installing there demos just to see. what you say is true and things can be learned but that is not the point of what im sayng. I just dont like the agressive sales techniques.

Hopefully by the time live accordionist synth and slicer come out. Youll make it in the music industry, and be touring the world. By then youll just be sponsored by ableton and youll get all the upgrades for free. Thats what i hope to do with about three or four software and music hardware companies. If it doesnt work out, its back to jacking guitar center everytime a new version comes out. Try it!! It's fun and easy!
Two technics 1210 turntables, alot of guitars, 2gig Sony vgz fz290, 2gig frankenstein pc, mbox, ableton, flstudio, recycle, the infinity gauntlet, and alot of spare time..

WHERE'S OUR VIRTUAL ACCORDIONIST?!
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

I really love Live! but I'm not forced to buy ALL their products, in fact I did not buy Operator. Simply, I did not consider it useful for me (I have NI FM7). On the contrary I will buy Sampler even if I have already a great multi-sampler (NI Kontakt 2).

The question is really simple: If you like it and if you can, you will buy it. I can guarantee you that software development is really expensive and that to survive, softwarehouses have to SELL their products.

I didn't buy operator either.. Wasn't sure of the need and didn't have the cash for it at the time.. Wish I 'd done it though.
I hope that we could as live old users keep a prefered price to buy instruments at our time, not part of the package. I don't plan on getting Sampler by the time Live 6 comes, but I might in January!
Looking at the new personnal pages, I realized that I own a copy of live since v2!!!!
i should do the math of the upgrades and all... :?

you've only yourselves to blame for validating their business model.
I'm right there with you, Ang. And I was very vocal about this right from the start. As I predicted a year ago, the negative equity in this new business model would become harder and harder for Ableton to defend.

The fact that this thread even exists a year later only proves my point.

It won't be long before we all think of Ableton in the same way as NI. I was there a year ago. More of you are there now.

...and then Apple will buy them and remove support for PC's 8O
