one of my live sets has developed a glitch. whenever i play the drum track i hear a POP, and i see the meter on that track go all the way up for a moment then i get no audio at all until i restart live.
if i move the sample over to an empty track and press play it works.
i have the following effects on the original track: eq 3, mda combo, and utility.
i tried disabling all. sample plays.
enabling mda combo, sample plays.
utility, sample plays.
mda + combo, sample plays.
eq 3? loud pop-->no audio.
removing the eq 3, or turning it off does not restore audio.
here's the setup:
g4 550
768mb ram
os 10.3.2
live 3.01
outputting through m-audio ozone
problem with eq 3 ?
it may not be Live!
I have a similar problem that occured at work:
The demo machine has all types of cool software (we sell it) loaded.
the audio interface is an Ozone (latest drivers). The Ozone outs are connected to a pair of Roland DS-50a monitors.
this occured regardless of the application running:
If the Powered monitors were switched off and then back on, or if the input selector was swithced to digital and then back, the Ozone (and any app I tried) would produce not a peep until the computer was restarted.
It happened while using: Live, Cubase 1.06, Wavelab, Acid 4,, Sonar, windows media player.
the Fix? hmmmm. this is not scientific: I re-arranged the media room at work... now the OZONE and the computer and the monitors all run off seperate AC, and the the problem jsut disapeared. Also... clean Install of all applications and OZONE drivers.
whatever, the problem is gone.
hopw this is helpful.
cheers,
T
