Intel Merom shipping next week!

by next thursday intel will have begun shipping out the new Merom processors. Anyone that bought or is thinking about buying a new MacBook Pro recently should hold off or return theirs .

no joke, with the Apple developers conference set for the 7th of august we could see new MacBook Pro's running merom by that day.

you've all been warned. i dont want to hear people bitching when their new purchased macbook pro 32bit computer is outdated by a new 64bit macbook pro in a few weeks.

1 ghz pb w/10.4.4, 2x1.8 G4 10.4.5 & 3D

but lucky you, you´ve got that 2x1.8 desktop machine. I´ve only got a 1 ghz pb.

Although i want the pro, i wonder how much ass the ibooks will kick.
I already know for a fact that any of these new macs are the bomb with Live 6.

Lets just hope we dont get those REV A issues type of crap.
Because they're supposed to have a new design...

I bit the bullet and put my Dual 867 aside in favor of my Imacintel.All i can say is WOW what a difference.

I am also waiting for the new proccessors.I need a lappy so i can start gigging........

Coming from the PPC you guys will be very happy,....much less when live goes 6 and all that power is used properly

I got a 800mhz Imac, thogh I have got a whopping whole 1G of Ram and a Lacie D2 RAID

i'm curious to see how much better these new meroms will be over the yonahs.

i'm mad the meroms are out earlier than expected but whatever i will have had my MBP for 6months now by time the new meroms ship on the MBP.

i dont think merom will come for macbooks until even later. MBP's are the only ones getting them i believe.

Personally, I'm OK with it, the macbook pro I got was such a steal that anything coming out right now would cost twice as much, without the 2Gig of RAM or 7200rpm HD...
But Yeah, things are looking up for Live in terms of processing power.

The quad core Kentsfield and Cloverton (Xeon class) have been bumped up and are scheduled to ship by year end.

There could conceivably be an 8 processor (dual quad) Mac announced at Macworld SF
