So, the more criminals we execute, the fewer people we'll have to execute, right?

It's interesting to hear people quoting the ten commandments, though shall not, etc. or talking about "an eye for an eye".

Christ never said any of that. It's funny to read posts by people who on one hand talk about inflicting painful deaths on criminals, but on the other hand invoke Christianity as their justification.

According to Matthew Christ did say:

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,"

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."

You really think christ would sentence someone to die in the electric chair? Nowhere in the new testament have I ever read anything about "and they shall be thrown into a pit of alligators..."

BTW, I don't consider myself Christian, but I have read the book.

What's really lame are those people who think that us "soft lefties" have lived some sheltered life, free of violence and abuse and just want to go cuddle up with rapists and murderers.

Utter codwswollop. I've been beaten senseless, jumped, had my head split open with a bat once, and a golf club another time, been robbed, had guns stuck in my face and all of it, except for one instance, for nothing more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Under no circumstance do I support the death penalty. Regardless of the crime.

it is simply a matter of law and order

child porn and human trafficking is EXPLODING! all over the globe

punishment should fit the crime

as I have said before

don't wanna die

then leave children alone

but time and time again
these things are let out of prision only to do it again
because of cowardly wimpy judges that are blind in regarding matters of right and wrong

yes you are a bunch of massive softies

don't want the death penalty
then mandatory life without parole

don't try and out Bible verse me

Romans 13:4

notice the word sword
you don't spank with a sword or slap on the wrist with it
you kill with it!

4 for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the SWORD in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

Forgivenss and mercy also needs to be done with wisdom or the will be no society but total anarchy

so what do the cowards want to do with child rapists?

well if you let them out then YOU! WILL BE GUILTY FOR THEIR CRIMES AS WELL!

yes I would rather stand before God Almighty and say "yes I want and support the death of child pornagraphers and child rapists by my government" instead of "well God I didn't want to be guilty of murdering these people so I would rather let be free and just hope they don't do it again"

nope not me
down with them!

the supreme court is a complete disgrace to America and human beings in general

http://www.freedomforum.org/templates/d ... ntID=16082

it will now become much much hader to track down the locations of kidnapped children and to determine wether or not is it a real image or a morphed one

just to satistfy the sick desires of pedephiles

and for those of you that think it would be wrong to deny the poor old pedephiles their jollies by banning virtual child porn or just view this as "freedom of speech"

then you can bet that I AM JUDGING YOU
as a completely and utterly worthless individual

I don't know if someone has said this yet, but the punishment has to be removal from society, not death.

Justice has to be as fair as humanly possible, you cannot punish the person who is obviously guilty with NO shadow of a doubt at a disproportionate level to those that are found guilty beyond a reasonable shadow of a doubt.
First of all, it rewards the sneaky criminal, and makes it more of a crime to plead guilty... Secondly, with the simple fact that people do accuse and convict the wrong person all the time. when I moved to Washington state here in the USA, a man had just bean released from prison for a rape he didn't commit. The pictures of him and the actual rapist showed plainly why the woman who was raped made the mistake, at the very least they looked like brothers.
The only reason he was let free is because the rapist went in for a 30 year sentence on kidnapping, otherwise he would have stayed in.... If there had been a law allowing the state to castrate this man, his life would have been stolen from him in a bigger way than five years in prison did.

This happens to people, and personally, I see NO reason to allow the government to do more than sentence people to prison, remove them from society, of course! but if you take it to too far, then the state becomes the guilty party IMO. I would rather have a free society with a few problems than a society in which the government is privy to fascist ideas of law.

If you think prison is too easy or whatever, then spend a week in prison. It's not too long of a period of time. You'll be OK!

The law should never be an emotional issue, you have to make rational choices about punishment, or you become as bad as the criminals.

As a side note I was pro death penalty for the longest time after reading a few books on serial killers, but a few books on the nature of law made me rethink my views.

The state's Sexual Offender Registry said Bentley was convicted in 1994 of lascivious acts with a child. He served two years of a five-year sentence.

James Bentley also is in jail awaiting trial on a charge of second-degree sexual abuse.

I dedicated this information to the dumbos that what to waste our tax dollars on rehab while more and more preventable victims are created
