it sounds like my tracks sound louder out the right speaker

Post by poops » Tue Jul 18, 2006 10:59 am

Yea, ive been trying to figure it out. It is very noticeable. Everything is hooked up great. But inotice my rendered tracks compared to other tracks in my itunes sound like there is more sound coming from the right speaker.

Does that make sense?

Other tracks in my itunes, even tracks there made at my buddies on his computer do not sound this way. But the ones I have made here on my computer have a shifted balance in the sound. Its liek the right speaker is puching the sound more than the left.

Has anyone else ran across this problem who can help me?

I know its not my speakers, and i know its not my sound prefs on my computer, and everything else seems fine.

What could it be?

:?

I've noticed that when using the autofilter, it seems to shift the audio to the right (filtering seems to occur faster on the left channel). Has been especially audiable when using a highpass filter.

Check system prefs.
Sometimes the panning will be off center, not sure what causes it.

Do you have another application that will tell/show you a dB level reading in an "averaged" way ? ...so you can check a finished, rendered file.... to be sure?
I know Wavelab will, SoundForge, etc.

A free one would be Voxengo Span....I forget but ..set it to Averaged..note the readings on Right channel, then Left channel.
