Jerker....Again and again!!
well, it's cool, but I'm a little concerned cause I'm shipping my 25 in for repairs already....it's having problems staying on even with it plugged in the wall...and my lowest key clicks a lot with the aftertouch.....while I'm at it, the black keys dont respond well to .....um....glicendoes (when you slide the back of your hand up the keyboard) on the 61 unless I do it hard. but regular play seems fine. I'm sure it's just a matter if ironing out the wrinkles of the first few shipments.

TJ, how do you like the FIZMO? I've always wanted to experiment with one of those things, I hear they're friggin amazing for sonic morphs and stuff.tjwett wrote:Jerker fan here as well. I got fed up with having the QWERTY keyboard on the underside of the desk, makes it a bitch to play a MIDI keyboard up top. So I recently mounted the slideout keyboard option above to the bottom of the top shelf. Way better for playing. *Note the Ableton Live 1.0 box down below.![]()
oh man, holy shit you have no idea. it's just plain insane. i'm sort of an Ensoniq fanboy so my opinion might be a little biased but in my experience (had i for a few years now) it's simply thee ultimate hardware pad machine. 48 poly with 8 oscilators at a time and that juicy ass Ensoniq filter. they are getting harder to find all the time as the earlier models had a sort of catastrophic defect in the power unit so a lot of them just drop dead. mine's from the last production batch which don't have the problem. the ideal score would be a Fizmo rack, those are pretty rare. i think they only made a few hundred. truth is the keyboard takes up a shitload of space so its not that practical in a "modern" setup but i honestly cannot find its sonic equal in software so i'll probably never let it go. if you can find one in good shape i'd say you would be doing yourself a disservice not to grab it up, if you're into pads and atmospheres etc. of course as that's where it does best. and just because it's fresh in my mind; i got to play with the new Roland SH201 at the store yesterday and i'll be damned if that thing didn't sound pretty farkin cool! i typically hate Roland and hate new hardware synths and "virtual analogs" but that thing was really singing. not a bad deal for the $500 range.M. Okay - mike holiday - I see you have a turntable mounted on the main shelf. Does the Jerker move/wobble/vibrate at all when (if you do) you scratch?
I've never been happy with floor standing tables for my decks - is the Jerker stable enough for scratching/turntablism?
(I'm not holding my breath here - but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised..)
