Keep getting asked for re-authorization ----

Post by FORMAT » Thu Jan 08, 2004 1:00 pm

--- have any of you experienced this too?

I have Live 3 installed on OS X and 9. The 9 version seems to go back to demo mode regularly and wants the response file fed into it again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I have to get a new response code, which are limited to 5 I think. so I'm running out of them.

Best,

yes, this happened to me. i have 3.0.1 installed on mac OS9, running fine. then i went to my parents over xmas, brought my laptop, but when i opened live it was in demo mode and asked for the authorization code. i was offline so had to wait until getting home before re-authorizing in online at home. quite strange, but it hasnt happened since......

This has happened to me too, only in os 9 though. It seemes that if some extensions aren't loaded, the challenge code changes. This worries me too because of the whole limited response code thing...

Well I hope I haven't spoken too soon but I have 3.01 on OS 9.2.2 and so far I have never had the problem.

It has never defaulted to Demo mode or asked for re-authorisation

I downloaded 3.01 as soon as it came out and have probably launched it 45 times since then.

I always use the same extension set so I can't comment on the missing /different extension concept.

Strange 8O

I think if you run out of response codes and explain the problem, ableton will provide you with more.

Here's a trick though: If you have two response codes already (like me, for OSX and 9), try them both again. In most cases, the program will accept those. Just make sure you have these codes on the internal HD you're travelling with!
