Totally agree. I used to always only use software synth, but then my friends got me ER and EA for my birthday. And they totally changed the way I think about making music.

The 2 little things are made for each other. Even not connected to the sequesncer placed onto a lounge table they neverthless created hours of fun for me and my friends!

I also heard a rumor that Korg is discontinuing them due to some weird components inside. Get them quick.

I would figure that Korg will be releasing a new version here soon, and it will include a usb port for quick transfers.
Is there any info on whether and when this might happen?

Just got the ESX and except that the it is f..d- "no card error" and I might have to send it back it lives up to my expectations and needs. Great UI specially for live use, "better", I mean quicker to use then MPC 1k and as compact.

Interesting.... Do you think the USB port is actually missing or is card file transfer OK?
I read somewhere that you also play fretless, what instruments?

I must try that Godin , do some shops actually sell them or these are special orders, where are you ? Though I use fretted Vajra vina ffor over a decade still must say I hate them frets. It was the most difficult process to overcome "whatever way you try it is out of tune in some way-syndrom" Sarod does not work for anything else then classical music not to mention that it is impossible to use with loud sounds on stage.
Godin might be great solution., cant wait to try it- before I spend the tour earned money on some other gear.

i have the ES mk2 , EA mk2 and the ER mk2,

I would recommend the EA and ER very highly, but the ES is not as user friendly and its easier to sample stuff on live.

I ordered it at a shop - it's virtually never in stock as no-one really buys those.

I'm in MUnich and bought it at a shop near Augsburg.

I'm real eager to get a hardware box, probably EXS-1.

No does anyone know when they'll release one with USB?

Do you have any tunes with Godin on your website? BTW few shops have them none nearby and considering that they chrge 500 Euro more, then in US they wont get me as customer. I guess they became so cheap 800USD since almost nobody can play them.

My guess is Winter Namm... I figure it's a no brainer as evrything else they have made has a usb host on it. Plus, they are overdue in releasing a new electribe. Hopefully, it will just be ONE unit and not two different colored ones. Combine features of both the SX and MX and you will have a winner...

All the Korg boxes are fucking sweet, but I'd really push people towards the newer ones because they are capable of so much more than the older, outdated ones... not to mention they sound better, have more sounds, more options, and look sexier. The EMX-1 is definitely the best Korg box out there. I know several people who use them extensively in live situations and they love them.

I just got a used r1 mmk or whatever the numbers are (I'm used to the older er-1 which I sold like a doofis)

lovin it...

whats fantastic is if you hook your midi out into live and arm an impulse track and drop a pitch midi plug with + 24 you can sequence impulse with the step sequencer. fu**ing fun.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
