Drop outs when exporting audio

Post by Pluffo » Sat Aug 05, 2006 12:28 am

Hello!

I run Live 5.2 on a Mac Mini 1,42 Ghz with 1 Gb Ram under Mac OS X 10.3.9.

I use Colossus and even though I experiecne som cracks and sparks, as well as drop outs, when I have the buffer setting set to 256 samples, the songs I make runs lika a clock once I raise buffer setting.

So, my problem is this. When I export a song, I get serious drop outs in the audio file. Sometime just individual instruments dissapear but I also experience whole segments of the song just going silent.

How should I proced? I´ve tried exporting the file several times, restarting Live between every session, and tried different settings for the DFD in Kompakt as well as the buffer size in Live.

I appreciate any help.

/Martin, Sweden

its an ableton bug
just dont render via export instead record your mix to a new track inside Live

i hope theyve fixed this in version 6 otherwise the new multiple track rendering feature is redundant :?

Thank you for your answer...Let´s cross our fingers for a bug-fix in version 6 then.

defragmenting your hard disks will reduce the clicks and drop outs in the exported file. They will still be there though, but less :(

I thought this was done automaticly under Mac OS X.

Oh well, however, this is quite a serious problem. s it is now, I´m not sure I will be able to export my whole project sine I even experience clicks and drop out when running on the highest samling buffer ( this is what happen when you fall in love with Colossus 8) ). Have the Ableton mentioned anything about this problem ( In that case, can anyone post a link? )?

"When you play a heavy session, audio and midi clips drop out randomly .. And also, I hear a lot of clicks and very short dropouts when playing a big session. "

answer

"That is the beauty, it doesn't matter if the tracks click and drop out while playing realtime. The resampled audio will be good. Try it, even if its just for a small section that stutters... it's worked for all of us."
