i think phatmatik works for macs
guru is working on a mac version if they don't already have one
not sure about intakt but probably
and liveslice will have a mac version in the near future

i think the app called audiofinder is mac only and has a slicer i believe
you could run fruityloops through an emulator maybe

Yes Slicer YES

I just recorded a phat disco / synthy old loop into Live

So in order to make this work for me I need to export into Recycle, Recycle it as a rex

then open Reason, load up into Dr. Rex and rearrange my rex slices on the fly

It would be cool if I could do this all in Live

On the real - no slicer or rex type player - weak

An integrated slicer would had made so much more sense. But maybe they wouldn't have been able to charge so much money for it?

AFAIK Live 6 still lacks REX/ACID/groove template support? That really is a bit pathetic in this day and age.

apparently video was the number one request. you can't be upset about them implimenting the thing that was requestion more than anything else. maybe this time you should spend more time requesting and less time hoping.

No, Live definitely doesn't suck. But there hasn't really been much progress since Live 4, which was a ground breaking program a couple of years ago and still is the best in some areas. What is missing from Live 4 are mostly common sense DAW features that has been an industry standard for quite some time.

Having a one year product development/upgrade cycle is probably a bad idea in the long term. Live 4 -> Live 6 would have been a good upgrade.

I never said I don't want a slicer. but you people are being brats about it to be honost. all I see everyone I go on this forum now is being saying "ohhhh they didn't do this and they didn't do that and how could a professional daw blah blah blah not blah and logic has blah but live doesn't blah"

why is everyone mad about video? robert henke said it didn't take long to impliment. and I know it doesn't eat resources. and if you don't want it then don't use it. but the fact is that if they left something out for you they put something in for someone else. they put something in for one person and someone else says "heyyyyy wait about the things I wanted! I can't believe this"
to be honost in my mind video might as well not even be there cause I haven't used it even once and don't plan on it and it's not eating my resources so I'll pretend it's not there.

yeah but what would a daw be if it only had simpler and a slicer? you could do cool stuff but then everyone would say "dude simpler is not a daw quality sampler"
