sending midi from FCB1010
I connected my FCB1010 to Live5 through Uno1x1 MIDI-USB interface, however when I press a pad nothing seems to come into Live's midi port (no led is blinking). I can see on my Uno1x1 leed linking though - that means FCB1010 is sending messages. Can someone help to figure out why Live5 is not seing it ?
Also, I search manual for midi chanell setup in Live5 and can't find it. Can someone explain me how would I set chanels in Live if I want i.e send midi messages from 4 diferent instruments on 4 diferent chanels ???

Re: sending midi from FCB1010
I have this same problem. I downloaded the 3rd party editor and change the configuration that way, but it doesn't seem to save the setting to the device, even though it says it does. I am going to try doing a factory reset next, but I was wondering if you found what was causing your problem. Thanks.aklisiewicz wrote:I connected my FCB1010 to Live5 through Uno1x1 MIDI-USB interface, however when I press a pad nothing seems to come into Live's midi port (no led is blinking). well, what i would do first is download something like midiox (veru useful), to show exactly what messages are getting sent in. make sure your uno is showing up and enabled for remote in live (as stated above). also the midi routing is on a per track basis, so you set the diff channels on each track.OriginalSpaceMan wrote:I have this same problem. the FCB is a beast to program, but i finally got mine all set up like it should be....
the FCB programming app is cool, but i think what it does is switch the programming of two pedals, stuff is saved (as long as you go through all the sys-ex, put the fcb in receive mode blah blah blah), but some of it is wrong. i gave up on it and just figured out how to program the midinotes into the pedal.

If you wish to start clips and control effects with it the interface will need to
be enabled as a remote input.

Agree with Ben, have you checked that?
Also you haven't said if you have programmed the FCB to send any particular messages yet........get hold of the FCB editor from the Yahoo FCB group, it is the only way to program the beast IMO.
Sometimes Live on the laptop I use for gigs doesn't recognise the FCB and I have to reboot to get it to see the FCB. Don't really understand why that is but......
