I have a replicatable midi connection and rewire problem.
I have a m-audio ozonic connected to my Compaq pcima firewire cardbus.
I turn on the ozonic with my computer off.
Then startup the computer.
Then start Live 5.2.
When I look for midi input and output devices, my m-audio ozonic keyboard will appear not connected in orange lettering even if all track, sync and remote are highlighted green. After rescanning. There is no change in connectivity.
I then close ableton live.
I start the program again.
A windows xp message box appears saying “Live has detected another Rewire master application. No Rewire slave applications will be available for use with Live unless you quit the current rewire master application and restart live.”
I press ok on the box. And then Ableton’s interface appears.
I look under midi/sync and my ozonic midi keyboard and external midi appears connected.
However when I run taskmanager I have two copies of “Live5.2.exe” running.
This is happens everytime.
I have no other rewire applications running except for Ableton live.
Please help solve this mysterious midi connection problem.
I have contacted m-audio support and updated all drivers and gone through a system check with m-audio support
