BCF-2000 downloads

Hello,

I am wondering if any of you kind folks could fill me in on what downloads i need from the behringer website regarding the BCF-2000 and live 5. There are numerous ones and i do not want to download any uneccesary files.

I am running it in U-1 mode with just a laptop attached thats running a edirol USB powered keyboard and soundcard, ABleton 5 and soft synths.

Just download the latest driver version... Stay away from the editor software... People say it's crap... I have it and never use it.. The BCR is easy to program..

you need two things actually (i think)

the drivers,

and the firmware (1.1.1.1????)

The BCR can't "learn" from ableton. How do you program it, then?
(for example, make all controls on preset 1 be midi ch1, preset 2 is midi ch2, and so on..)

Never had any trouble with the editor software. It was a bit picky with which USB port I used, but once that was sorted, it worked fine.

go into edit mode (hold edit+desired encoder/fader), and use the top encoders (push) to change values. but hey, this is in the manual. next > ableton learns from the bcf/bcr.

I know that. Although it's easy to program, it's still a pain in the ass to do the whole controller.
I can't understand why they didn't make a "reset" template in which each preset is 128 controls of a certain channel, then make 16 presets of 16 channels.
Or something really simple - to have a command which automaticly assigns CC numbers to all 128 controls, so there are no 2 controls with the same CC number. Now that most VSTi/VST's have a "learn" function, it's quite essntial.

I also think that Live should have a CC "template" that can be loaded from the top left side of a VST/VSTi window in the insert strip (next to "on/off" buttons). That way you can delete an instrument knowing that the midi mapping is available anytime, also for other projects.
I smart option would be to add a "channel shift" option; suppose I have a VSTi in that channel that is completely mapped with CC's on channel two.
Now I want another instance of that VSTi in channel 3. Then I would open the template file into it once it's in channel 3's insert strip, and in the "open" dialog I should have the option to change the channel, but leave CC mapping the same.
Mackie emulation solves the problem of assigning midi controls to themixer ooptions each time we start a new project, but doesn't solve different VST mapping.

Maybe I should put that suggestion in the proper forum

Search for bcf2000 and my user name you should use it in cubase/mackie emu mode

That mode is good for basic functions, not for various VST control..

You can control every parameter of Live in Mackie mode - and VSTs too.
Read this, don't forget to print out the strips and put them on your BCF - lots of buttons to press.
