It's wierd though. I mentioned to my girlfriend the terror plot to blow up aircraft today, and the fact that these jihadis were trying to use liquid explosive... And that it was now forbidden to bring liquids, gels or pastes on aircraft now.

Her response:

"Fucking Al Qaeda!!! Hand cream, perfume, hair gel, shampoo, you mean I can't bring it with me?!?! Fucking Al Quaeda!!! And what about duty free booze?!?!?! THOSE FUCKERS!!! HOW DARE THEY!?!?!"

Man she was mad. But I think she needs a touch more perspective

Funny thing is...laptops can and are checked pretty thoroughly so they are probably the safest thing that people could bring on the plane considering these freaking whackos now know how to make bombs out of Gatorade and hair gel!

You know, it's funny. I read a lot of books that I end up disagreeing with. It's the only way to increase your knowledge. While Smutek certainly doesn't have to ready anything he doesn't want to, I would recommend reading things from other points of view, rather than only reinforcing what you already believe. It's good for the sense of satisfaction and righteous smugness, but it does nothing to expand your understanding off issues.

As far as comparing Unholy Alliance to Mien Kampf, that's a far stretch. Perhaps Mr. Gordon should consier that banning books was far more of a Nazi trick than publishing politically incorrect analyses of your political opponents.

Bad idea. Not only is it against Western values (the whole reason we're fighting Islamo-fascism), but it's ineffective.
