Yeah I've run into this a few times. Weird that the value you get will change too depending on your zoom level.

You'll set an envelope dot at -.02 db or whatever. Then zoom in or out as you work on your arrangement. Go back and drag that same dot up or down and now you'll get -.05, -.12 or something like that and can't even drag it back to exactly .02 db. So if you do any zooming, you can never drag your envelopes exactly to the same spot each time.

You also can get a fader to sit at 0db by hitting the delete key. There is no way to do it with an envelope point.

support from here as well
this is a tiny detail, but a really critical one and can be quite annoying

Indeed, and I can't imagine it would require a lot of effort to implement.
It's also hardware-unrelated, so no Win/Mac issues involved.

Does anyone know: is this added to live 6?
They don't mention it in the presentations, but that's normal, since it's a small detail.

Any beta tester here who can enlighten me?

That's a real bummer. Getting precise with envelopes is important to good production...

Yeah, you can always hold CTRL for finer resolution, but direct typing would be nice too. Like, you select a point, and then you can type a new value where the current value is displayed.

That's exactly what I mean... It can't be THAT hard...
