i've been listening to all this friggin noise in my brain lately. all i know is that i'm pretty much sick of synthesized sounds.
my jazz bass comforts me, but i'm not getting the results i expected with live "on the fly" looping experiments.
anyone selling a repeater or an echoplex? =)

oh, i love the new lovesliescrushing out on sonic syrup.
=)
nyquist theorem and nyquil...

I'd happily trade my repeater for an echoplex, though.

BTW no one dropped Air here. And Moloko has been a fav of mine for a long time ;-) And The Knife (not just because I'm Swedish as this band - they are really good). Hmmm.... everything I picke uses vocals up front... hmmm.... ;-) Then I just have to name Pharoa Sanders and Fela Kuti too.

wow i haven't heard of one single band on Mbazzy's list or any other for that matter.

But I do Love
Air (great new album)

Per- I'm curious why you want an echoplex or repeater when you have live. Yes, there are some things that the repeater will do that Live can't, but not enough for me to trade my live for a repeater.

What are you trying to do with a repeater that you can't do with Live. I use to have a Boss loop station and found that Live does everything that that pedal did and like 100 times more! I have a friend (mellowdrone.com) who uses a repeater live, and when i showed him my Live setup he was like "shit I wish my repeater would do that"....

I guess the grass is always greener.

I'm sure you have already but do a search on "live vs hardware loopers" or jus search for "guitar" and you;ll find a lot of people using Live in the same way people use hardware loopers.

what kinds of problems are you having with looping with Live? I've had excellent fun and success using live and the FCB 1010 foot controller, haven't use my loop station since. It's not as immediated to learn or setup, but once you get you Live set and footcontroller properly set up, I think Live smokes any hardware loopers (except for the lack of overdub possibilities). Let me know what your problems are, and I'll see if I can lend a hand--don't give up just yet!

You will find some good anwers to that here:

Yes, Live is indeed very close to a Repeater, and I actually prefer Live. But the Echoplex can to things that Live just can't.

Lexicon should start making their "Jam Man" processor again. They could stick loads more memory in it these days too. I always wanted one but could never afford it.

Yeah, the Jammans were cool. I never could afford one either. Used to rent one ocasionally for gigs. But two years ago I finally got some money to spend. The Jammans were out of the market then, but I found an Echoplex.
