Why control-click?

Right click works on the PC
Control Click is for users of the one button mac mouse.

and before any starts a bashing thread, my mac supports 7 buttons out of
the box with no drivers thank you very much.

How do the new curves deal with recording? What I mean is: if, while doing a set, I switch between different curves, does the resulting envelope take that into account? Does the envelope just record the midi I'm sending in from my controller, or what?

the curve is applied post-automation. it records the midi normally and you can change the curve setting after the fact. nice.

I've got a wireless 2 button Logictech mouse on my G5 that I love... I was just doodling around away from home with my mouseless laptop when I made this post.

It's fun to put different beats on different tracks and set up some A's and B's and to throw some effects in the sends and wick-wick-wack on the different fader curves. I'm still away from home, but maybe tonight I'll get the chance to actually use my controller and crossfade for reals.

Ableton rules. I didn't even have time to get frustrated with this - just realized I wanted this feature last week!

Can not wait for Live 6...

So if I change curves mid-recording, is that change recorded? Or would the recording sound like I was using the same curve the whole time?

I just tried it and no you can't change the curve type during a song. whatever curve you set it to is the curve that that song is going to use. which is kinda nice cause you can change the curve after recording. but not nice cause you can't have multiple curves at different sections.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

2angstrom: sorry for OT but it seems you use Motu UtraLite soundcard... "Main Out 11/12". Abes havent removed this strange recognition of that soundcard in 6?

That's actually my screenshot, not Ang's. Yes I use an Ultralite, and no, nothing has changed in this regard from Version 5.2,1. I personally don't think it's an issue, at least now that I know outs 11/12 are the main outs.

Definitely was confusing at first!

Rebump....(glad they've finally updated the crossfader for those that use it) but now, after implementing a highly complex rack macro system, it sure would be nice if they'd actually let all users control them how they want, and make it recallable, rather than tieing those controls into specific hardware controllers via automap.

I'm not quiet sure what crossfade curve means.
Is it about the the crossfader behavior?
I tried the different possibilities and moved the crossfader
but couldn't see big differences!
