I just got a new MacBook for my birthday. 2Ghz processor, 512 MB RAM. I installed Live 5.0, and when i ran the demo songs, CPU load would run as high as 190%. Sound was clicking and ULTRA SLOW, one could not tell it was music. It was just noise. Please help! Are there settings I need to change? My dad has a G4 with poorer performance qualities than my MacBook, yet Live 5 works without a flaw!

Yes i just downloaded the 5.2 upgrade. I have not purchased it yet, but it works fine in Demo Mode. So from this I opine that I will never be able to get live 5.0 to work properly on my MacBook. Is this correct?

That's correct - 5.2 was the first version of Live to run natively on Intel.
ps you might want to look at upping your ram sometime soon. 512Mb was the bare minimum for audio 4+ years ago. That is one area you will really be able to improve the functionality of Live on your machine - track count/overall "speed" of the app etc.

Yes I have tried both demo songs. Vitamins by Jethro runs my CPU at like 180% on 5.0. Fortunately it is only 17% on 5.2, so I guess the update is better suited for MacBook.
