Recording multiple tracks

Post by welbicitus » Mon Aug 21, 2006 10:32 am

Does anyone know how to start recording multiple tracks simultaneously? I'd like to record different instruments in a live setting. Right now, I have different notes assigned to start recording each track, and basically have to press 6 keys on my controller at the same time. Is there an easier way?

In Preferences > Misc > Behaviour, make sure "Start Recording on Scene Launch" is set to ON, and that the track Exclusive button for "Arm" [arm for recording] is off (i.e. not lit.)

Now you can arm as many tracks to record as you need, and triggering a Scene (via a single midi note or mouse click) will put all those tracks into record simultaneously.

Happy to be of service! You can also record multitracks "old school time-line" fashion in the Arrange page. Arm multiple tracks, hit the Record button in the Arrange's transport bar, then hit the play button to start recording.

2 track recording

How do you combine two tracks that were recorded on seperate tracks in Live? I enjoy the vocal and acoustic guitar effects my Toneport UX2 provides, but I haven't figured out how to combine the two seperate tracks it creates. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you want them as one track you could set the levels and then resample them on another audio track. Just choose resample on the track and it records everything it hears.
