Josh Von - Event Horizon (von's quantum seismix)

Post by supster » Thu Aug 17, 2006 2:36 pm

i did a set for progressivehouse.com -- with an intro that was rushed out because of last minute technical shit.

anyway i decided to develop it the way i heard it in my head, then replay the set (trimming 5 minutes of fat) for my website (soon .. ish) ... with the new intro:

http://www.vonsdigital.com/public/Josh- ... x-320k.mp3

note: not a dance track, definitely an electronic intro ....although the more nasty electric funky sounds i still have more parts for and will probably do one

I did it entirely in Live 6 beta - VSTs used:

Reaktor (multiple instruments, FX and transformers), Z3ta+, GURU, Camelspace and Camelphat, Ableton FX, Wavearts mix fx and compression, Izotope Trash and Ozone3, BBE, Vintagewarmer, and Waves L3

All vocal samples were derived from the same 8bit CIA shortwave test broadcast I used in Singularity,

The electric power sounds - guitar like funk sounds - stabs - and other many percussive elements were all derived from 8 bit samples of random electricity

The sound of the vortex was sampled onsite utilizing a dyson interstellar warp drive, an I-River, and a $2 condenser mic

Story behind this:
http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2003/p ... index.html

"A 53-hour Chandra observation of the central region of the Perseus galaxy cluster has revealed wavelike features that appear to be sound waves.

These sound waves are thought to have been produced by explosive events occurring around a supermassive black hole in Perseus A, the huge galaxy at the center of the cluster.

The pitch of the sound waves translates into the note of B flat, 57 octaves below middle-C.

This frequency is over a million billion times deeper than the limits of human hearing, so the sound is much too deep to be heard"

So: the numbers she is counting off in my set Singularity -- the boot i did called "Into the Vortex" .... and this ... are the coordinates to this region. Which are:

RA 03h 19m 47.60s | Dec +41º 30' 37.00“

therefore its: 0319 4760 4130 3700

Singularity ended at the central regions of Perseus A ... the edge of the vortex:

In the article at the link .. they allude to the possibility that this region is so massive that it is slowly swallowing down entire galaxies

So "the voRtex" picks up as we are orbiting the event horizon around the singularity

... then we go in. so thats what i had in mind when i did this one :)

why nobody figured all that out i dont know
