Question for Audigy 2 Users

Hi,
I have a "budget" setup with Live 5 on a PC using a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (external breakout box.)
I have an issue on this setup where when I record new tracks, it includes all of the output from other tracks in the background. This "staining" of the tracks causes a lot of major problems.
I've searched these forums and elsewhere for a fix but haven't found anything that applies. I know there are Live 5 Audigy users... Any suggestions to help with this?

I don't have an Audigy, I'm afraid, so I may not be much help.

Are you going through an external mixer or is the soundcard going straight into speakers / monitors?

If your going through an external mixer, you may have it set up so the entire mix is routed back into the sound card. You'll need to make sure that only the intrument you're recording is sent to the cards inputs (using an aux out, or sub group).

Otherwise, the same thing could also be happening in the sound card's software mixer. Could give you any specifics on this.

I assume that the card is capable of full duplex recording (where it can play and record at the same time). If it's not, it may be time for a new card. I thought these things were mainly intened for entertainment use- games, DVDs etc. I may be wrong.

check the windows recording options.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I think that the "What U Hear" is related to the problem. If I go into the Creative Mixer and change to a different input for record volume other than "What U Hear," I'm able to disable it in the Windows mixer advanced properties.
This didn't solve the issue yet, but I think I'm close. Which input/device do you have your record volume set to in the Creative mixer? Thanks again,

I have the same problem, drivin me nuts... I,ve played with the creative stuff... I,ve played with the live stuff... I just can't figure it...javascript:emoticon(':evil:')

Hey,
I think we have this figured out: You need to look at the inputs list on the i/o panel and see when you play, which channel the audio's coming in on. Then you set the input to just that channel. We found that *all* of the audio from all tracks was coming in on a seperate input. Experiment with this and see if it fixes if for you. -Jamie
