Strange Rewire Problem...

hello! since i have installed live 1.5.2, cubase vst/32 5.0 and reason 2.5 are not working together in rewire mode anymore. in reason, i cant move any of the locators... and it does not play back. can anyone help me?[/b]

Hi Andy,

probably the ReWire.dll was overwritten. You could try to reinstall Reason, this should fix this problem.

thanks for your answer! i finally found out what the problem was... i am working on a macintosh. i tried to reinstall cubase and reason about 300 times, but it did not help at all. i thought it was a reason or cubase problem. after i reinstalled my system (huf), i installed cubase, then reason and they worked together fine. but when i installed live, rewire between cubase and reason did not work anymore. so i deleted a file called ableton live engine in the systemfolder and rsn. + cubase worked again. for some reason, this file disturbes the communication. i think this is lives rewire engine.

i'm also having rewire problems on my mac. installed live and logic and reason will not communicate. when i remove the "ableton live engine" from my application support folder, everything works fine. but then when i run live, it reinstalls the thing and i have the same problem all over again. anybody knoww what to do?

did you say from your applications support folder? on my mac the file is an alias in the systemextensions folder. the original of it is in the live folder (LIVE>RESOURCES). When i remove this file to, live does not reinstall it when i start the application, but i get the message "installation incomplete..." but live works fine, the only thing is that i cant use rewire. i have to put the file back when i want to use rewire between live and reason. so maybe yo should also try to move this original file (LIVE>RESOURCES>ABLETON LIVE ENGINE) out of the resources folder and only put it back when you want to use live with rewire.
