Dan Clarke - New Prog/techy/funk Mix.

Hey all, i said a while ago i'd get a new mix together, so here it is. It really represents where i am at the moment in terms of my style, some of you may be suprised how much i've moved on since previous mixes. T

he best description could be 'Prog/tech/funk', perhaps not as deep and drowsy as the older stuff, and a lot sharper in sound. The mix is only 30 mins long (complete with my special memnto sample intro :p) and if you're having trouble streaming right click the link to download!

Pretty excellent set IMO. I particularly like the direction you're going in. The opening inaudible vocal part sets a good tone. Personally I think the first track is a little too deep, I like the energy level, but somehow this seems too 'drowsy' for the rest of the set. The set really starts to grab me around 9 minutes in, and you create a really nice long build as the set continues to get more upbeat. Good use of dynamics, the increased volume helps the peaks.

I'm not sure whether you're using a vocal around 10 minutes, but if you are, I'd do more with the breakdown. I really love the synth that comes in at 22 minutes, great sound, I'd probably bring it back in later or extend it's appearance a little.

This is a really great set, good work.

Yeah apologies for that, i was going to London early the following morning so i had to cut it a bit short, i promise to do something more substantial for my next effort :)
