I just hooked my new Dell flatscreen up to my powerbook's DVI connector. Now, coming through my speakers is this not-so-loud, but annoying digital noise (like whenever the hard drive works). To say the least, IT"S F&CKING ANNOYING!!

Is the power cord to the screen a 3-prong?
If so, try bypassing the third prong (ground). Sounds like you have a ground loop. I had to remove the third prong on my LCD panel for the same reason.
