another story about the idiots there...
I went to the keyboards room and was looking at the korg radius-r (the one that looks like a rack that was slapped onto a midi controller keyboard) and a guy was playing it who worked there and I said "sounds good but it looks kinda lame (being that it looks like a rack slapped onto a controller" and then I said something about how it looked like an update to the ms2000r and he had no idea what the ms2000r was.
not that I think everyone should know these random gear identification numbers but someone working at guitar center in the PRO AUDIO section should sure as f*** know what a Korg Ms2000r is/was.
it won't be long before you mention the tb303 and they look at you like you're speaking spanish.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Oh no, that's when all the good stuff starts. Yes.Nixon wrote:it ends only after drinking thisBring a pot of water to the boil, add cloves, pepper, cardamom, and cinnamon, boil for 10-15 minutes. Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

It's the MS2000BR I thought!
Nope, there never was a lot of money in selling Reason. Arturia Storm however, almost pure profit... They probably have a sales contest going on, something like sell the most copies of Reason in your district and win a Mackie Control. I won a Motif 6 in a "Sell the crap out of Reason" contest without even trying, but that was back in the day when Reason 2.0 was a twinkle in the developers' eyes..Martyn wrote:Those salesmen probably just have a big commission on sales of Reason or something.
One of the reasons (there's that word again) I left GC was because their business model is based on hoping that the sales guy knows just that little bit more than the most clueless of customers. I can't count how many times I did phone support for a colleague's sale where the customer was assured the product did one thing (Yeah, sure, the JP-8000 samples, it's a Roland, dude), but so obviously didn't.Johnisfaster wrote:another story about the idiots there...

I complained about having a department full of people who had no idea what they were talking about, or what they sold, only to be told that all tha matters is that sales are closed. To top it off, because I questioned the status quo I was declared persona non grata by the district administration and finally left after my commissions were cut in half "because we call the shots". The place is like the mob, don't ever work for them, you won't be able to change the place.
