ableton 4 only lets you use 2 FX that's kinda lame.

only 2 effects per project not per track. I thought well 2 effects per track,
"well could be better", but that's not the case. What have some of you done about that.

I don't think you'll get additional track counts and effects, but you may be able to upgrade to Live lite 5 for free:
